Client Reviews of Jared Stone, CPA

I was a client of KR Colby & Associates for over 20 years and had every confidence they would do my taxes with fidelity. I was very happy with their service until Jared Stone took over. He is a lying scoundrel. He messed up our taxes, called me a liar, wouldn't take responsibility until we brought in our original documents proving their mistake, yelled at my wife and I to get out of his office because we proved he was wrong, and refused to stand by their "guarantee". His word means nothing because he won't even stand by that. He does not care about clients or his integrity. I suppose you would have to have integrity to be able to care about it. His dishonesty floors me. Ken Colby would be rolling over in his grave if he knew what Jared Stone was doing with his longtime family business. Tragically, I will not be returning, and I will encourage everyone I know to do the same.

BEWARE: I would completely give this man 0 stars if it was an option!! Jared Stone is the most crooked man I know! There was a mistake made on our 2019 taxes, a mistake that was 100% their fault, but when my husband was FINALLY able to speak to him after leaving messages for a week, he called my husband a liar and that it was impossible for that mistake to be made. I save all our documents, so we made an appointment to go in and discuss it with him. In the meantime, he went into our electronic documents and fixed the mistake not realizing I had the original documents. He treated us like we were ignorant trash who didn't understand a thing about taxes. I literally showed him the mistake and showed him the corrections I had been able to figure out without a special computer program. He got angry and yelled at us to get out of his office. I told him I would be more than happy to do that, but I would also be escalating this case. He backed down and said it was their mistake and that he apologized and would make it right. He said once we got the notice from the state about what we owed to contact him and he would pay off the balance. We got the notice and again my husband called him but was only able to leave a message. When Jared returned the call, he told my husband he had changed his mind, wouldn't be paying anything on it, he didn't want us as clients, and to never call his number again. He is rude, disrespectful, lazy, dishonest, and has a bad temper which perhaps needs some anger management. K.R. Colby was a great company before they sold out to Jared Stone. He is going to run their long time business into the ground because he doesn't care about clients, guaranteeing their work, or keeping his word. I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS LYING CREEP!
