I’d leave no stars if possible, this guy is the worst in the business , he takes people money and don’t provide proper services, I suggest staying away and reporting this garbage to every agency possible

The nightmare of dealing with Mr. Hymowitz continues. Having had to pay a lot of money due to countless errors on the 2016 taxes he filed for me, the IRS has now scheduled an audit of my 2017 filing which, unfortunately, he had also filed -- before I was advised of the 2016 audit. Again, the requirement requires a meeting with the IRS, page-by-page inspection and filing of amended returns by a knowledgeable, responsible CPA. This is already costing sleepless nights and will cost plenty of money thanks to Allen's errors, including penalties and interest. "You get what you pay for" which, in this case is sloppy work, an evident lack of knowledge and total unresponsiveness to requests for help that is desperately needed to deal with the tax department.

Soon after Allen Hymowitz prepared my 2017 taxes I received a notice from the IRS, citing errors on my 2016 return, which he had also prepared. The notice requested several thousand dollars in additional tax plus interest and said I could also be subject to penalties. For nearly three months, Mr. Hymowitz did not respond to my emails, texts, and phone calls asking for his help. Eventually, he emailed me. assuring me that he would write to the IRS and resolve the matter. He agreed to provide me with copies of everything he was sending to them. The IRS never received anything from him. Nor did I. Ultimately, I paid another accountant a significant amount of money to review the 2016 filings, page by page, correct the errors and file amended returns which resulted in my having to pay additional tax to the IRS and the State. The accountant found similar inaccuracies -- and additional errors on my 2017 returns which will also require amended filings and additional payments. This experience taught me an unpleasant, costly lesson.

My husband and I have been going to Allen for the last fifteen years to have our taxes done. Even though we live out of state (My husband works in NYC) Allen always makes sure our taxes are done quickly and accurately, making sure to maximize our return for us. Allen is the nicest guy to deal with and nothing ever ruffles his feathers: If it needs to be done and can be done, Allen does it. I can't imagine having anyone else do our taxes for us!
