I do not recommend using this 'tax preparer.' Gautieri made multiple errors on my 2014 and 2015 tax returns, as I was informed by the state of Virginia and another accountant who is a registered CPA. These mistakes included listing the wrong numerical street address, wrong business name, failing to file partial-year returns in two states, and mis-categorizing business expenses. Gautieri also failed to respond to multiple emails, text messages and voicemails for weeks at a time - even when I indicated the requests were timely and connected to financial decisions. Furthermore, he refused to take any responsibility for these mistakes, and instead of responding to a request to fix these mistakes to avoid me incurring new fees with another accountant, and to refund the fees I paid for his work, he simply stopped responding and has not since. Also, his office is based in Washington, DC and the city has no record of either his name, office address or two companies he listed on my tax returns with his name as ever having been licensed to operate in D.C. as a business, nor having registered as an LLC. It is my opinion, based on the facts of my returns he prepared, inquiries to the Washington, D.C. offices that license companies, and phone calls with tax authorities in Virginia that Gautieri is not a legitimate tax preparer in Washington, DC.
