I would prefer to give no stars, however that's not possible to do and also include a statement. I highly recommend that you avoid any dealings with Mike Bass and his staff. Last year 2015, I went to him to prepare my taxes and help me with an amended return from 2014. Even after alerting him that his staff was not moving forward with my amended return and my calls weren't being returned, I still received the run around from him. When he finally realized that I wasn't going away, he decided to meet with me. I had every phone call documented and what was said to me. Which one of the "excuses" apparently I have to leave out due to the details of leaving a review, as it states to refrain from allegations of illegal activity and comments that may be considered libel by the tax preparer. However, it was in the local news which confirmed that the situation actually did in fact happen in his office (according to him). My amended return was delayed by more than 6 months due to his lack of interest in his clients. Also, when he did finally meet with me, he accused me of going to "another" Liberty location, again due to circumstances I can not write on this review as per their request. I do have all the documentation for both years. Now, being that I was right....Mike was so kind as to refund my payment to him for preparing my taxes and also told me that he would prepare 2016 for free for ALL the problems I had gone through. I asked for this in writing which he wouldn't provide me with and only stated that he wouldn't forget me and his word was good enough. Now, I have tried contacted him to schedule a time to get together and get this over with to no avail. He did respond to my text initially, I have given him 6 full weekdays that I am available and now my last text to him asked that he confirm that he was going to actually hold true to his word and I have heard nothing back. Although this situation is somewhat the same as having bad food at a restaurant and being offered a free meal just to bring you back in, I think most restaurants would actually let you come in for that free meal. I am an extremely organized person and feel VERY mistreated by Michael Bass and his staff. I also am having trouble with him ignoring me. I have never waited this long to file my taxes in my life. I have worked since I was 15 years old and now I am 37. He basically said that the reason he refunded my money and would file 2016 for free was that word of mouth goes a long way and he really wanted to make this right for me. I have had ENOUGH of the run around with him. To others, please be careful of him and his staff. I would hate for one other person to go through what I did. Paying taxes and filing taxes are difficult enough to begin with, let alone, extremely important to be completed timely with someone trustworthy. Not Michael Bass!
