In all honesty, this Tax Preparer is not right in EVERY sense. My parents (the original clients) have miserably given the benefit for this woman to take control of their 2013 Tax Returns. Fairly granted it was my parents who chose to change tax services to the Quintero Bautista Tax Service around January/February to gain some sort of different insight. However, this Tax Preparer failed terribly. She did not include my mother's income and sent the tax return with only my father's income on file. The result was great for us since the IRS thought we made little in a household of 6, so the refund was strong yet it was because some information was not included. And the unfortunate news did not reach us until a couple of months in which we had already spent the refund. At first Martha concluded that the process will still legal and that she sent my father's income alone because she decided to fix the problem by sending both of their incomes by the "Married Filed Separately" choice. But then Martha changed her mind and stated that she would submit an Amended Tax Return (1040X) which of course was the proper way to resolve the incident and was switching it back to "Married Filed Jointly". So my parents went one day and signed the necessary papers in which the Amended Tax Return would be mailed out and corrected which was around April. You might be asking why am I involved? Well I am a college bound student attending the University of California, Irvine and every freshman student must fill out the FAFSA which demand the Tax Return of my married-jointly parents. I did not know at the time of the problem that arose so I blindly submitted the wrong information. So by the time I received my Financial Aid Award in June it only showed my parents's income on file which was $20,000 short and I was confused. I talked to my parents and they called Martha in which she stated the papers were sent and were being processed which can take up to 3-8 weeks. I believed I still had time so I waited patiently until my Orientation in August 23rd. I visited the Financial Aid Office and spoke to them about my situation where they froze my Aid immediately! I was told to bring a Tax Return Transcript of the Amended Tax as soon as possible! In that same day I rushed to the Quintero-Bautista Tax Services in Pomona to meet up with Martha. By the way, the month of July I spent several times contacting Marth through phone calls to get a copy of the Amended Tax Return with no success. I arrive at the Tax Office and I find out Martha has not mailed in the Amended Tax Returns and mind you it is August and the 1040X should have been mailed around June. I had to personally mail the two copies of the Amended Tax Returns for Next Day shipping which cost me $39.98. And now I wait in September while the Amended Tax Returns are still being processed and my Financial Aid is on hold and my parents debt grows immensely more while this Tax Preparer is without a scratch on her. If I had to choice to choose no rating at all I would!! One star is too much of a tip of a hat to her. I do not recommend Martha Bautista in every sense.
