I am awarding Susan West a Five Star review for her patience, diligence, empathy, responsiveness and professionalism during a month long ordeal in the successful filing of a complex IRS Form 990.

We were referred by a coworker to hire SLAM Tax Service. They are Brother and sister and brother in law team: LONNY Mefferd, Samantha Mefferd (A266290-tax prep license #) and K. Craig Morris Jr. (brother in law of Lonny Mefferd) make up SLAM Tax SERVICE. Long story SHORT: Lonny Mefferd put my husbands wrong SS# on the tax filing and omitted important information AND did not care to find why the IRS rejected it. Samantha Mefferd who has the tax prep license # did not review his work like she is legally obligated to do. K. Craig Morris is the smooth talker that puts out fires caused by these bad business practices by saying whatever he thinks will get you to back off and not deliver consequences. We have to amend our tax filing report and we received a late filing fee due to all this negligence. They did not fix one thing themselves. *** Please do NOT be confused w “SLAM Tax and Financial SERVICE” out of Montebello, CA. They are an entirely different company. I called them and they said they get a lot of complaints regarding Lonny Mefferd in particular with people that think they are the same company. DETAILS: We sat w Lonny Mefferd after driving 2 hours one way to meet him and 2 hour back. It took him 1.5 hours and he charged us $320.00 for a business tax return on a Sole Prop small company and form 1040 filing for 2021. We met the tax deadline and were not late at this point. IN MY OPINION: This is a take your money and go SLAM dunk - no authentic service after that. They do not proof their work to make sure it is accurate or take your actual numbers and use those #’s. They do not keep their word about anything they say they will do. SLAM Tax Service, City of INDUSTRY is a fraud of a company. Lonny Mefferd filed our taxes and put in my husbands WRONG SS#. No refund for over 4 months so we tried to reach out to Lonny Mefferd. No response. Another 30 days go by months later we still could not get ahold of him or get a response after repeated attempts. Finally we contact K. Craig Morris Jr., married to Lonny’s sister I believe. Then Lonny answers email “I emailed you that the IRS rejected your tax return saying it was already filed for 2021”. He did not email us with the IRS letter ever. And we had NEVER filed 2021 before! He would not look into in any further and would not respond to more emails or phone calls. HORRIBLE SERVICE. Finally we contacted Craig Morris again who did respond but really is just the oil that greases their dishonest and amoral business. Seems like Mr. Morris job is to smooth over the fires that Lonny makes by any means possible. At least he communicates but Mr. Morris does not keep his word when he offers to amend or return my filing fee (to date, his promises have not been kept). He says anything to smooth over and to stall the outcome of a NEGATIVE report being made. 6 months after filing we hired a CPA to look into it and he said Lonny Mefferd put our wrong SS# on our filing. This is just the beginning of understanding how corrupt this company is. We noticed on reviewing closer the entire tax filing that he did not take our home deductions for our business at all. This is a chunk of change equally more than $400 coming back to us. He had the tax return from the year before which showed the home deductions. Those lines are blank on our return and he does not communicate anything about omitting these real deductions. Now it is 8 months after filing return and we notified Craig Morris in a detailed email ALL that went wrong w Lonny Mefferd. Mr. Morris said he could amend our taxes return for us or get us back our filing fee. Days go by. Then Mr. Morris proceeded to text me “I have reviewed Lonnys tax return and Lonny did a good job he just needs to communicate better”. So of course he stalled with his sweetness and then did not follow through with his promises. Months later I get a letter from the IRS w a penalty fee because we had to ref

I paid this accountant 500$ to file my federal, state and local taxes and he forgot to file the local taxes because I received a letter from the IRS stating I neglected to file. I called and emailed him for 2 weeks and he said he would do it. Next thing I know he’s threatening me to not call him again and that I didn’t pay him to do my local taxes and hangs up on me just when it’s about to be due. This guy is a scum bag and thief and can not be trusted.

Complete fraud. He pretends to be this eloquent individual but he is just ghetto in a suit. I paid for my 2022 filing and months later I was charge for the same amount. He gave me the runaround and told me he would “find a solution” once tax season started. This is what I call theft.

warning this lady signs contracts, than disputes the contract aking like she didn’t read it correctly twisting the contract to suit herself. After signing a contract with her and going over the contract several times with her she hired me to work on her property at about 98% completed she doesn’t answer text emails or phone calls creating issues than tells me i cant read my own contract correctly cancelled work after materials purchased labor done and trys to state she owes less than the contracted agreement owing $3,000 dollars to this company. She can’t even read a contract correctly claiming less price on contract after signing and dates the agreement amount very misleading a signed document manipulating a legal signed contract to suit her self twist and cheat hard working honest folks out of labor and materials now you tell me would you like her working on your documents?

This is a terrible man! He took my paperwork, hasn’t filed my taxes. He is now blaming me for not providing information. Will not return my paperwork so I can go else where. He has avoided my calls and my texts. I called from another phone and answered right away. He then started again blaming me. I have begged and begged to get my paperwork back due to needing taxes done to buy a house. Won’t give me my paperwork back. My taxes aren’t done it’s been months, now past the file dates and is again avoiding me. Please avoid him at all costs. I’m afraid he lost my paperwork and now has my personal information.

You were very polite, always return phones calls or responded to messages as soon as you could. Very respectful and would let me know straight up about how everything would work out. I couldn’t ask for a better person to do business with. Thanks to Melody Wilson for referring me to you.

I have 3 businesses and they can be quite overwhelming as a whole. I have used the services of John Miller and Susan Goodman Attorney. They are the most professional and down to earth people to work with. They keep all my businesses legal and on track with any tax matters. There are many tax resources and “programs” but why save a few dollars and I mean a few when you can have the professional services of Susan Goodman. Every time I need any help with business legal matters or I have to deal with the IRS she and John Miller are the first and only people I need to call.

Vadim is also a Loan officer and he modifies taxes for his clients to be able to do mortgages for them. This is fraud for housing. Sometimes he does that without client's knowledge or appropriate consent. I would recommend avoiding Vadim's services to save yourself from audit.

Great tax preparer make sure you get what is owe to you very professional

I met Andrea a couple of months ago and have learned that she's very attentive and detail oriented in her work. She's very knowledgeable on the latest tax related subjects, and takes pride in her clients with Care and consideration. Extremely professional and skilled In her field of expertise. And as the cherry on top of the cake, she's got a great personality and disposition. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking help and assistance in the tax and legal field.

Warning stay away from Itsa Aguero, very dishonest tax cheat lyer. Don’t trust here with your money.

I wouldn't refer anyone to work with this organization. I had them do my 2021 tax return and since them I have received 3 letters from the federal and state government informing me I owe ~$16k more than what they submitted in my tax return. I have tried to contact this firm multiple times to help resolve the issues in the letters I received and not once did they respond to my calls or emails. If you want your taxes done correctly and want customer support during the tax return process, I DO NOT suggest hiring this firm.

Tax season is about here so if you want your taxes done don't do Business with Lawanda Drayton. The worst experience ever when it comes to taxes. She gets paid and you get nothing.

The worst customer service I have ever received in my life. Not to mention taxes were done incorrectly. Tried many times to get a hold of her and will not answer any calls or texts. Do yourself a favor and avoid dealing with IRS problems. Instead of getting a refund now the IRS is charging me $1,900 due to incorrect information on my tax return.
